  • K (I AINT ANGRY THAT'S HIS STAGE NAME--AND I BET KEI IS HIS ACTUAL NAME) || EDIT: AAAND NO IT'S NOT--I SAW A LEAK BY ACCIDENT BUT I WONT GIVE IT HERE BEFORE K DEBUTS (EDIT2: WHICH IS CONFIRMED SO YAY)

  • 1st eps impression: WHO DIS PRETTY BOI?? OH HE CAN DANCE?? oh...the producers were disappointed, noooo, he's just nervous. I can't wait to see his actual dance performance. Also--HE'S A MEME MATERIAL, LUV HIM

  • 2nd eps impression: ...HE'S THE TYPE WHO CANT HELP BUT LAUGH IN SERIOUS SITUATIONS HUH? Also--STILL A MEME. And yes, his dance is not perfect but Idk why I love watching his parts so much?? Also a great nii-san to Niki (and Taki).

  • 3rd eps impression: TAKI'S FATHER INDEED LOVE HIS FUNNY VOICE IMPRESSIONS(?). AND HE SLAYED JK'S PART PERFECTLY. THAT'S MY BOY tho I'm a bit scared for the next eps due to the crying!K teaser in the 2nd eps preview

  • 4th eps impression: I KNEW SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN ONCE I REMEMBER HIM CRYING IN THE 2ND EPS TEASER AND THEN I FIGURED OUT IT'S BCS TAKI WOULD BE DROPPED BCS ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO DROP K AFTER THAT PERFORMANCE, AND HE GOT THE EXEMPTION CARD BUT THEN TAKI'S NAME WASNT INCLUDED IN THE DROPOUT AND PROBABLY ONE OF THE BIGGEST MTHFKIN TWIST OF THE SHOW HAPPENED APOIRHGAPWOI. I srsly felt rlly bad for him and I probably cried the most that night. But anyway, I fell in love with his choreography for the "One of A Kind" song, and I believe he'll do well despite his insecurities of going up against Niki.

  • 5th eps impression: and yep, he slayed. And that choreo that he created was honestly the turning point for me. At that time, I knew I-LAND won even though I didn't want to believe it. And I won't hold it against him (and any sane person would never) about the whole Jay-Sunghoon thing. He only did what he thought was best for the team, and from the tryouts, which one was better from the two was hella obvious. Also, he's up for center now, and I'm CURIOUS as to how this will go.

  • 6th eps impression: DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE HAD A SORE THROAT AND COULD BARELY SING I DIDN'T REALIZE IT THE FIRST TIME AROUND. HE STILL SLAYED HIS CENTER PART ESP THAT LAST BIT THO SKSKSSK IM DED (and I'm glad at least he made it in top 6, I have one less trainee to worry about--even tho he was almost dropped by the producers, but couldn't blame them for their expectations)

  • Overall pt 1: MY 2ND TOP PICK MUST DEBUT. Also, he's the only one older than me (cries in 98liner), he literally has to debut, time's running out for him. I voted for him at first bcs I don't think he has a big fanbase, but now that I think about it...I don't think the producers/I-LANDers will drop him unless he did a grave mistake in the last test (in which, I don't believe it's possible), so I'll focus on my other bbys. || EDIT: IN WHICH HE WAS ALMOST DROPPED BUT THANK GOODNESS--LETS DEBUT POTASSIUM

  • Overall pt 2: first eps in and we alr see 3vil edits //sigh//. Tho I had to agree with you my boy, I didn't like the current system either, but I trust Belift. I seriously love all of K's performance in this series (be it DNA, Flicker, Flame On, or Calling), but it seems personalitywise, there's been some bumpy moments (and then there's that r4cism scandal but I aint here to talk abt that, plus it's clearly fake, I wonder why people couldnt move on from it). I srsly love K's leadership in DNA, tho in Flicker he needed to learn to listen to the others' input, but in Flame On--damn, he exceled and nailed it. Some REAL character development right there (that tbh it was almost--or even it is--devastating that he couldnt make it to debut line-up after all that). He still has his cute/meme moments in this part tho and I rlly wanna cry watching him hugging the members in ENHYPEN&HI. I really wish all the best for him. He already has that aura. I rlly hope we could see him debuting soon...like REAL soon, but on the other hand I want him to stay in BHL. ...Ah well, I'm just glad to hear he's doing well (source: k-fans during his birthday cupsleeve event). || EDIT: CONFIRMED DEBUT AOSIJFPAOWIGEWOIJ IM SO EXCITED YES THIS BOY DESERVES IT (I'm srsly considering to go back to my Japanese fangirling phase but well let's just see). IM STILL SO HAPPY THAT WE'RE ABLE TO HEAR FROM HIM THIS SOON I WAS SO SHOOK DURING THE NEW YEAR'S || EDIT (2): AFTER BEING LEFT HANGING FOR SO LONG, K AND THE OTHER &AUDITIONBOYS (or &boys, the way they are referred to as rn) WILL HAVE THEIR REALITY SHOW AIRED IN JULY 2022, SO I EXPECT SOME DEBUTATION IN LATE THIRD OR EARLY FOURTH QUARTER THIS YEAR. In the mean time, you can enjoy some of their contents on YT and the Japanese region-locked app, smash.

  • Ngô Ngọc Hưng aka Hanbin

  • 1st eps impression: oh he's the one who's from Vietnam, his accent basically said it all (he even called BTS literally "BTS", not "Bangtan Sonyeondan" /cre/ || EDIT: yes I know a lot of k-artists also call them "BTS" but it's usually the English-speaking ones and Hanbin's accent was very Southeast Asian-like--I felt like I heard someone from my own home country?? (no I'm not from Vietnam but I am Southeast Asian)) . Wait...why does he give off the "bishy boy" aura when he's rapping?? Also when he looked surprised--okay I think I'm gonna like this boy. And...he's the first one to be sent to the Ground, which was sad ofc, but I can't say anything about it bcs I'm not a trainee who can judge someone's dance performance.

  • 2nd eps impression: oooh, he became the leader for the Ground trainees, way to go dance group leader! The snips of his training video showed that he wasn't bad either. Personalitywise, it's clear enough that he's considerate, I love it when he consoled Jaebeom. Also "CUT MY HAND"---

  • 3rd eps impression: ...he seriously didn't have any major screen time in the episode. I did remember him saying goodbyes to the Grounders who made it to I-LAND but that's pretty much it. Can't wait for his performance in the next eps.

  • 4th eps impression: I srsly believe that Hanbin did very well, he's one of my fave in that performance (expressions and all, he reached those high notes, even though the energy was a TAD bit lacking). And I'm glad that he's such a good friend (about Niki asking him to switch with Jaeho) but THIS IS A FRICKIN COMPETITION HANBIN FFS. I'm glad Niki gave the push that he needed but apparently his style didn't exactly suit the song as good as Jaeho's did.

  • 5th eps impression: I'm glad confident!Hanbin has appeared, HE'S CENTER NOW. I'm a bit concerned with his attitude towards Rain's feedback tho, I was srsly like "Hanbin, what he said was totally correct and you srsly wanna fix that for the real performance". So yeah, I didn't appreciate his perspective of the situation, but I'm looking forward to the performance.

  • 6th eps impression: aaaand he wasn't center bcs of the new ilanders joining in the performance sksksk but I gotta admit he really slayed his part and I think he did well overall (and can I just say I love how he's always shown really concerned towards the members??)

  • Overall: ...I don't really mind, not exactly my top pick for debut. I'm basically rooting for him bcs we're both 98L and he's talented, but all of them are, so I just hope he does bcs the fandom would go wild if he didn't (let's call this "Fear of Fandom"). It'd be great to have another Southeast Asian in the k-pop industry, though...and he's also running out of time. Still, I don't think I'm gonna vote for him, bcs he has the biggest fanbase in this fandom, and he's not exactly my top pick, but I wouldn't mind him debuting--as stated above.

  • Overall pt.2: yeaaaaah...tbh I would be surprised if he didn't make it to this part, he's not exactly my fave but he's sweet and has potential so why not? I agree with the BTS members regarding his concern tho, and I'm glad that he did try his best to improve. My favorite performances of him would def be DNA, he suits his parts too perfectly it's almost scary. I also like him in Dive into You, Into The I-LAND ot22 (that high note tho), but not so much in Flame On to be completely honest (regarding his voice timbre which contrasts the others so much in that performance. If you don't get it, then we shouldn't be having this conversation at all). I did pity him about the whole screen time thing especially in episode 9, but he still left quite an impression to me despite all that (his expressions are very unique). Though somehow after the elimination...there's a video from him right away...and then there's the fanmeeting (I literally paid for that too bcs I was curious) ...and then the NYEL performance. Srsly if there's no explanation of his status as of NYEL, Im srsly throwing hands. Well, I'm glad he's at least still a part of BHL and also now has his own twitter. I'm srsly waiting for more clarification. || EDIT: YES IM SRSLY THROWING HANDS. HIS PERFORMANCE OF I&C IS WONDERFUL ALRIGHT EVEN THO I WANNA CRY BCS ILAND BUT I SRSLY NEED SOME CLARIFICATION HERE BELA WYD || EDIT(2): as of 210602, Hanbin has announced that he's left Belift Lab and joined Yuehua Ent instead (fun fact: it's Seon's old agency before he joined I-LAND). Well, good for him I guess, I wish him all the best for his future career and hope he can debut soon || EDIT (3): AND AS OF 220302, HANBIN HAS OFFICIALLY DEBUTED AS A MEMBER OF "TEMPEST" (STAN BOP HITS STAN TEMPEST). I am SO glad that Hanbin has found a new place for him where he is loved and cherished. AND I GOT MY BISHY HANBIN BACK SO IT'S A WIN-WIN HA (yea and I'm sorry bela, it really is your loss. Though I don't think there's anything you could do about it either). His vocals and dance SLAYS. His vocals has seriously improved and I'm proud of him for that.

  • Choi Seon

  • 1st eps impression: oh okay, he's tall...is he the oldest? ...wait, HE'S YOUNGER THAN ME. 4 YEARS TRAINING?? No wonder he's desperate, glad he's honest about it at least, and I appreciate his guts for going first in the entrance exams (even though that performance was...yeah, but his guts alone earned him I-LAND)

  • 2nd eps impression: oh damn I'm not sure I'll like where this is going--he's playing the friendly card. But I'm somewhat relieved that he even went to the lengths of evaluating Niki's vocals after the Rain check (pun unintended). And he also has concerns when Youngbin doesn't feel very comfortable with Heeseung's way of leading things. He may be desperate, but his attempts for the team seems genuine enough. And his performance wasn't bad.

  • 3rd eps impression: I've said it before and I'll say it again--he srsly knows how to play the game here. Tho I was a bit upset with him due to his carelessness (the "grounders" incident), the ex-grounders looked rather awkward and offended bcs of that--I honestly dont know what to think bcs he's just unnecessarily blunt. His performance was rather strong too (but the judges thought that Sunghoon overthrew him during his lines, and ngl I had to agree)

  • 4th eps impression: I srsly thought Seon would be voted out here bcs I don't think his performance gave much of an impression to the producers (as stated above). But well, he wasn't. Although I gotta admit, I kinda like his voice characteristic better than Heeseung in the tryouts (technical stuff aside). I'm glad he did his best to take care of the reps too.

  • 5th eps impression: it's individual time and the pressure's rlly kicking in for this guy, huh? Luckily, he knows what's up: I honestly think he could be dropped by the producers bcs I don't see any significant improvements from him. AND IT PROVED TO BE TRUE AT THE END OF THE EPISODE?? WHY THE SPOILER MNET??? And just as I figured out his role as the mediator of the group (even K went to him to talk about the need to change the dance rep)--that's why the members never voted him out--he had an important role in the group, talents aside. (also I'm trying to underline the fact that we're trying to debut a GROUP here, not a bunch of soloists. Talents alone don't mean anything--chemistry's just as important)

  • 6th eps impression: I can see that despite his experience, he's obviously having difficulties with this choreography and the fact that his ground performance looks like he's lost all hope doesn't help with his saving at all. I pity him when he's like the odd one out in ground but luckily Taki was friendly with him. But still, I'd consider voting for him if he was more...energetic.

  • Overall: uh...I want him to debut because I feel sorry for him mostly, but he isn't exactly one of my top picks for many reasons (but unless some serious shiz's happening, I doubt he'll ever go to the Ground at this rate) | EDIT: yeah, I take that back, he could very well be dropped by the producers at this point. I feel rlly bad for him tbh, but Seon stans would def lose their shiz due to that reveal(?), so I'm not gonna waste my vote. | EDIT pt. 2: WELL HE WAS DROPPED INDEED SO IDEK ANYMORE

  • Overall pt. 2: I alr suspected this since there weren't many wenyings (Seon stans) to begin with, but...my heart still dropped when I didn't hear his name. I mean, before all of this, honestly I couldn't really imagine I-LAND without him, he was a prominent presence. By the time he reappeared though, goodness, I rlly miss his sociable personality (his "lechugo" tho sksksksksk). Also I love checking out his instagram, he's srsly a really fun person--and he didn't deserve any of the h4te be it from eggies or engenes. Also, since he has a sosmed acc now, I still have no idea what his stance is?? I mean, we can only hope... || EDIT: Seon's insta is a bit inactive lately, Idk if it's because he received h4te, or he just preferred not getting too involved with social media with everything that's been going on, or...Idk really. He still uploads instastory sometimes but he doesn't follow anyone anymore (not even his fellow I-LAND-ers whom he followed before), so...really I'm kinda suspicious of this behavior but well, let's just see || EDIT (2): well as of now (May 2022), what I do know is that he's currently a part of the producing group "CIELOGROOVE" who is also...I'll talk about it in another ilander's part. But the point is, I'm glad that he didn't really abandon the music industry altogether.

  • Lee Geon Woo aka Geonu

  • 1st eps impression: oh, he's so excited for Heeseung's performance at first but ended up not voting for him bcs it was not as good as he expected? Hmm...I can relate (not that I think Heeseung's not good, but the "having expectations" part). Also, he's the first person who voted for his own teammate after performing (and the first who raised his hand in general). We love a non-conformist (he even quit high school for his dreams--that's srsly something else he got his GED, don't worry). It's sad that he's the only one from his team who passed though--their team seemed to be very close. Also, the boy who said he didn't want to eat but ended up staying the longest around the food table, okay--

  • 2nd eps impression: he voted based on how harmonious the group would be...hmm, def a team player (well Sungchul did give off a different vibe than the rest of them, but--). Also, I know he's a good singer, but damn he slayed those notes in the performance. Number 2 suits him perfectly (I won't comment on the Jay and Geonu incidents bcs it may have been evil-edited, but I personally don't think it means anything, and even he did it in a mocking manner, he had every right to in this setting. THIS IS A SURVIVAL SHOW PEOPLE). Also, HE KNOWS BOO SEUNGKWAN'S ANTI-BLOATING TECHNIQUE--IM WHEEZING

  • 3rd eps impression: Part 4 suits him very well--his power suits Jimin's voice in the original version. It shouldn't be questionable in the first place. Also...why is he such a crackhead along with Jungwon.

  • 4th eps impression: I loved his dedication when he talked about wanting to be the vocal rep (and from how he voted Taeyong off bcs he thought his improvements weren't enough, Geonu's ain't here to play games). I love his part in the performance, his mellow expression was finally put to good use (tho from the fact that Rain was surprised that he was the vocal rep, I wonder what the producers actually thought of him).

  • 5th eps impression: Geonu wasn't shown much in this eps aside from the rep battle (I liked how he immediately proceed to hug Daniel after the scores announcement though). Though I honestly think he could be in danger. The producers weren't very impressed with him (other than the rep battle--in which they're also totally smitten by Heeseung). I personally didn't see much improvement from the start even though he's been here all along so I'm wondering...

  • 6th eps impression: ?? TOLD YA--FRICKIN TOLD YA--THE PRODUCERS THOUGHT HE WAS BEING STAGNANT AS WELL. I srsly love Geonu at the beginning, but with everyone excelling, I can't blame the producers for expecting more of him, but I've honestly haven't seen his full potential (I know it's there, come on--). But with so many geonuggets, I guess he'll come back up in pt. 2. (and Idk what to feel about the fact that he voted Kyungmin out after comforting him).

  • Overall: I wish he's in the final line-up, I love his voice. | EDIT: yeah...before the final performance's revealed, I think I'm gonna stick with my guts and not vote for him. Even if we vote a lot, it wont matter if the producers deem them as not competent enough to proceed. Geonu srsly has a lot of potential, esp in vocals, I do wish he could make it somehow if he's dropped here. | EDIT2: and yeah, see? I ended up didn't vote for him at all bcs I have someone I'm fighting for, but it'd be great if he goes up again.

  • Overall pt. 2: as much as him getting into the top 12 didn't surprise anyone, the fact that he was the first to be eliminated sure did. As much as I did agree with the producers (and Taki got lucky bcs of his team score), it was still pretty heartbreaking for me too. Before eps 8, he was in my top 7 to debut (it was original top 6 + Geonu), but his elimination basically changed everything for me. Every second of his moment in pt.2 is very precious, esp his meme, playful moments (even tho I wasn't rlly impressed with his INU either but he did try his best), and at least I was glad to see him more even if it's for just a little bit longer. I know he will debut, he's not the type of guy who gives up easily, and I'll be waiting for him. || EDIT(2): AND AS OF THIS EDIT, GEONU HAS DEBUT UNDER A GROUP NAMED "JUST B", WHICH IS UNDER BLUEDOT ENT. After his sudden appearance on twt on his birthday (210202), to JUST B's member reveal (210521 through a twitter space and 210524 he's revealed officially), I seriously sometimes still can't believe Geonu's debuting even though I already sort of hoped for and expected that, as you can see from my rants above. Fr tho, he's one of my main biases in JUST B (and not just bcs he's an ex-ILAND-er), and he's the madhyung too (the eldest) :" another fake maknae madhyung in the making. He's srsly gotten better, and honestly? Everyone has their own time and place, and I believe Geonu's is now with JUST B. || EDIT (3): and a year after the debut, Geonu's to be honest giving me major English-speaking bestie vibes :" he's the idol whom I think as a "bestie" the most

  • Choi Jaeho (we srsly need more of him, 2nd eps in and I haven't got a single weverse pic where he's alone--he didn't sign up for a 2nd survival show for this shiz) | EDIT: there's one now bcs weverse gave us bonus INDIVIDUAL pics, but he's probably the one who lacks the most screen time in the whole series.

  • 1st eps impression: Oh, he's quite an observer, he literally counted the members the minute he walked in. He immediately thought the number "12" was referring to the number of members there. He's a part of the friendship trio (Geonu's team--performed VIXX's Chained Up). I personally kinda like his rapping, though? It's unfortunate that he didn't make it (I guess he's the one who got the least votes with 6 votes?). At least he got Kyungmin with him.

  • 2nd eps impression: There really weren't any major Jaeho screen time in the 2nd eps. I only remembered that he's the first one who held the tablet? (cmiiw)

  • 3rd eps impression: Although not shown much, he's clearly the grounder who's in charge and often tells the others how to do the dance (e.g. Kyungmin's incident and the tryout during the Rain check). He's shown that he got the experience and I'm really looking forward to his performance.

  • 4th eps impression: he did really well in his performance IMO, and he'd make an interesting rapper. I also love his dedication towards being a dance rep in GROUND, it's obvious he wanted this so bad. Despite being switched with Hanbin for a while, he didn't seem to hold any grudges either. I'm somehow glad he ended up being the final rep bcs he srsly needed more screen time.

  • 5th eps impression: I think he did well, but sadly it wasn't enough. I don't think there were any significant moments of him throughout this episode, but I wish to see him burn the stage again in the next eps. I could still feel that he's one of the "dance leaders" in GROUND tho, as always. It's like he never stepped up to be the leader, but he always assisted the leaders--due to experience, perhaps?

  • 6th eps impression: I'm glad at least Jaeho's one of those grounders who's desperate to show what he's capable of bcs we seriously could have more of that attitude around here. I could feel his energy in I&Credible, he's here to fight.

  • Overall: ...well this is his 2nd survival show and all...but personally he's not exactly my top pick at this moment :" and characterwise, I can't exactly relate with him either for some reasons.

  • Overall pt. 2 : ...wow talk about minimum screen time that I even couldn't notice him during the ceremony in episode 7. To be expected with the amount of Joahs (Jaeho stans) but it didn't make it any easier. The next time we saw him was in the I-LANDers' video of support to ot9 and he srsly gave me the "nerdy" impression Idk why (which is why Jaeho is a real tech guy/hacker in most of my I-LAND AUs). It's also great to see him perform and having fun with the members in the last eps (HIDDEN VOCAL?? I HEARD THAT CHOI JAEHO WTH). Idk what he's going to do next tho bcs he's on IG now, but I still hope he won't give up on his dreams (tho most importantly I just wish for his happiness and he seems to be doing well). || EDIT (2): ...yeaaaah, as of mid-2021, there are no more info abt Jaeho but he did share some photos/moments with other IG I-LAND-ers (e.g. Jaebeom/Echan, Kyungmin, Taeyong). I do hope he's still planning on debuting somehow? But Idk, he's never rlly talked abt it

  • Jung Jaebeom

  • 1st eps impression: oh, he's with the underdog guys (Sungchul's team--performed Monsta X's Shoot Out). His expressions while reacting to the others' performances is srsly something else tho. Also, is it just me or his face basically looked sad almost half of the time? Even his stoic expression during his performance looked more devastated than furious. I think he rlly needs to work on that one, but I kinda love his vocal tone.

  • 2nd eps impression: Taeyong literally said he'd probably melt to sulfur acid or curry powder--why on earth--? And I feel really bad for his training video--he srsly needs to work on his confidence. I wish him all the best for his future in the industry bcs he can produce great tunes.

  • 3rd eps impression: oh HE DID MAKE IT TO I-LAND AFTER ALL. Was it bcs of his guts or he actually made progress in the other videos? The producers' comments were rather vague and didn't show anything either hmm. But his expressions actually improved here, he actually looked fierce instead of sad in the performance and I rlly wanna applaud him for that.

  • 4th eps impression: I'm surprised they'd rather vote Taki/Sunoo out than Jaebeom, but good for him, I guess? (logically speaking, I'm talking about the scores--but Jungwon has made it pretty clear in the 3rd eps that scores dont mean shiz around here). I also started to like his voice better here, when it's shown a bit during the Rain check (does he have the versatile voice??). Other than that, I don't think he's shown much in this eps??

  • 5th eps impression: I can see that he's struggling, but I'm glad Kyungmin helped him to work harder. Well, let's just see how this ends.

  • 6th eps impression: I've just realized this now, but Jaebeom really stands out in the tests bcs of his lack of dancing skills sksk I love his vocals tho, but I can see what the producers meant. Perhaps that's why 10 of the I-LANDers voted him out? I'm glad to see the Jaebeom-Sunoo reunion tho.

  • Overall: ...yeah, he's not exactly my top pick, and tbh if he doesn't fix that problem of his, I'm pretty sure he won't be able to go to I-LAND at all (in which I still hope he'd get his chance to show what he's actually capable of). | EDIT: SIKE INDEED--now I don't know what to think of him--still not my top pick tho ((still sad that we can't see his producing skills on the show))

  • Overall pt. 2: sadly Suga's accidental name tag incident wasn't a jinx on letting him through. I was really glad to hear him again when the I-LANDers call him tho (still priceless reactions as always). Also, YES JAEBEOM VOCALS IN INTO THE I-LAND, LEGEND. And I loved seeing him when hanging out with the members too (again, I live for Jaebeom's reactions). Nowadays he's rather active on his IG, and I'm still not sure where he wants to go from here. I love seeing his interaction with one of the Rebumists (Jaebeom's fan) tho, so I'm still hoping he's somewhat still pursuing the idol path (though if he chooses producing, I'd be pleased with that too PLS OPEN YOUR SOUNDCLOUD AGAIN JAEBEOM) || EDIT: as of 210122, Jaebeom has officially changed his name to "Echan" so starting from this point, I'd refer to him as such. Echan is a part of the producer groups "YOUTH" and "PAPERMAKER". He still updates pretty frequently on his insta. As of 210301, he already said that he's not pursuing the path to be an idol anymore and he's probably focused on producing at this point--which is a good thing bcs he's alr done it. On 210524, Echan announced that he has finally made a producing debut with PAPERMAKER in the lyrics and composing of GHOST9's 5th track for their comeback at that time! We're def looking forward to more of his works! || EDIT (2): his producing career continued, and on 211224, Echan created a YouTube channel and uploads his song covers there! Please do check it out! His voice is getting even more amazing.

  • Chu Jimin (he looked really cool in this pic, I literally had to choose this one)

  • 1st eps impression: ah, part of the underdog guys who talks the most (and also quite observant, he didn't take a moment to get confused from the whole numbers-changing thing). I sensed so much of his energy during the "walker walker walker growling" part tbh, but I guess that wasn't enough to push him through.

  • 2nd eps impression: again, there weren't many Jimin screen time in this episode, but I gotta note that I love his training video the best, his voice sounded really stable.

  • 3rd eps impression: BUT HE DIDNT MAKE IT WHY--ah well, the producers must've known better. Aside from his interview part(?) during the Rain check, there weren't any major Jimin moments either, hmm.

  • 4th eps impression: I srsly think he did well in the second test AND I LOVE HIS PART SO MUCH (probably the voice that I love the most in this performance). And the producers admitted that his flow with Youngbin and Kyungmin was amazing--so was it bcs he lacked energy/intensity compared to those two that he didn't make the cut this time either?? He didn't put himself up for the rep test so I couldn't see more side of him sadly. Other than when he supported his team mates in the rep battle, I don't think there's much to say?

  • 5th eps impression: ...I honestly dont remember anything much about Jimin from this episode either?? Goodness I seriously hope we get to see more of him bcs I honestly think he's the real hidden gem around here. He talks a lot (as in his voiceover is often heard and he's often interviewed, or he's just a talkative person in general), but what we really need to see is his capability, cmon mnet.

  • 6th eps impression: AND SEE??? HIS I&CREDIBLE PERFORMANCE IS AMAZING MNET WYD?? And with so few chuahaes (Jimin's stan), us who like Jimin have basically lost hope :" I also admired that he started being passionate about showing off his abilities but aint it a tad bit too late my dear--

  • Overall: ...not exactly my top pick either so far, but we'll see | EDIT: THERE'S NOT MUCH TIME LEFT TO SEE BUT I HOPE HE'D DEBUT SOMEHOW (even if he failed here) BCS IT'S SUCH A SHAME TO WASTE WHAT HE HAS | tho I personally won't pick him to debut here bcs I can't imagine his chemistry along with the "top choices"

  • Overall pt. 2: yes well despite lack of screen time and everything that's been going on with how expected the top 12 is, I seriously miss Chu Jimin until now. When I saw him back in the support video and the last eps, it's just...it's difficult to explain but I'm just rlly happy to see him?? But aside from that, we haven't really heard from him again so...I really hope he's working on his way to debut somehow. || EDIT: SURPRISE MADAFAKAS--WE HAVEN'T HEARD A WORD FROM HIM ALL THIS TIME AND SUDDENLY ON 210521 WHILE WE'RE LISTENING TO JUST B'S SPACE LOOKING FOR GEONU, ANOTHER MEMBER'S HINTS WERE SURPRISINGLY POINTING TOWARDS CHU JIMIN???? AND AS OF 210529, IT'S OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED?????? I WAS SO EXCITED I ALMOST LEGIT SCREAMED AND CRIED????? (bcs I'm not a screaming type of fan, so if I did then that's a HUGE deal) ALSO THE GLOW UP CHU JIMIN DAAAAAMN. Needless to say that he's my ult bias in JUST B (again, ex-I-LAND-ers aside), oh and his stage name is "JM", literally (bcs there are two "Jimin"s in his group). And even after all this time, I SRSLY STILL LOVE HIS VOCALS, and with JUST B's powerful concept for their performances, I think he's a great fit to this group. Back then, I srsly wouldn't expect ChuJim to debut together with Geonu, but now it's real (AND THEY TOOK A PICTURE TOGETHER IN GROUND TOO, YOU CAN SEE IT HERE). I'm really looking forward to his improvements in the future, along with Geonu as well. I'll try my best to support the group too, but fr I think I'm alr in too deep rn :" but we'll see, we'll see

  • Lee Heeseung

  • 1st eps impression: oh...he's BigHit trainees' ace. Well, he deserves the title, I guess. I like his vocal technique and his...gimmick? I mean, it's clear that he knew what he's doing. No-one's questioning his worth of going to I-LAND.

  • 2nd eps impression: and it turned out that Mr. Perfect is aint so perfect after all, huh? He's friendly, he has the characteristics of a good leader, he's talented, yes, but the members won't feel discomforted of his ways for nothing (even Daniel who's not heavily related to Youngbin's conflict). But I do feel bad for him due to the whole "I can't do this" -> "okay you guys trusted me, I'll try my best" -> "I told you I can't do this". At least he still did well during the performance, though I personally think that he looked a bit too angry through it all.

  • 3rd eps impression: From the way that he's surprised (editors said) when Niki's announced out, does this mean that he didn't vote Niki out? I'd srsly respect him if he didn't. But anyway, I was rlly mad about his misunderstanding of the goal of this test (individual > teamwork), but luckily he realized what he did wrong and attempted to fix that. And he slayed his performance, I gotta admit (tho he smiled the least during the whole thing, he still looked intense for most of it but it suits the vibe of the song so I didn't complain. But srsly tho the only time he smiled was during K's part AND IT WAS THAT FRICKING AWKWARD HEESEUNG SMILE)

  • 4th eps impression: ...I'm honestly curious how Heeseung votes but guess we'll never get to see that, huh? But anyway, sasuga ace, people couldn't decide whether he should be a vocal rep or a dance rep. To be completely honest, his ballad voice wasn't exactly my fave, but yeah, he had a nice falsetto and I think he did a pretty great job (despite giving us a scare a few moments before the test started with the whole voice cracking stuff).

  • 5th eps impression: ... is it just me or Heeseung's not shown much in this episode? I didn't even remember which part he actually got (since K took center). Ah well, but I've seen enough of him tbh.

  • 6th eps impression: ...I ain't gonna argue, the switch between him and Jungwon was the correct choice (tho is it just me or I heard that Heeseung's first line was slightly off? But it's not off in the MR removed sksk). He didn't get voted off and would obviously go into pt. 2. He looked really sad about Geonu leaving, I hope the Lee line could reunite in pt. 2.

  • Overall: ...it'd be insane if he didn't make the final line-up. All 3 of the decisive elements (the members, the producers, and the fans) are all on his side. I personally wouldn't mind either way, but again, it'd just be insane if he didn't debut through here. But...I like him mostly due to his beanies and he's a fellow bolster lover #justasianthings | EDIT: and bcs I believe he wont be dropped anyway cause that'd be insane, I don't waste my breath (and honestly I believe any sane Heeseung fans shouldn't waste theirs either--other than solely Heeseung stans who had no other faves in the entire show).

  • Overall pt. 2: From how he helped Taki in leading to trying a new concept in Chamber 5, this part has many legendary Heeseung moments and it's obviously shown how much he's grown compared to part 1. Flawless performances, might I say? (aside from slight lack of expressions in Chamber 5) And despite the Flicker drama where people may perceive him as too yielding, there was never a moment that made me appreciate Heeseung's character more than that episode. Despite not being that fond of him at first, part 2 has made me love Heeseung more and more (climax being the "Heedeungie" debut), and I also began to really admire his musical skills (and later on I found out about his perfect pitch after debut...heeseung marry me pls). He may be 5th in the debut voting, but he was announced first, and I think it's just fitting bcs everyone must expect him to debut. Congrats dear, you seriously deserve it. || EDIT: and into two months after their first comeback, Heeseung has become everyone's biaswrecker and one of the funniest members in the group (and ofc, the most slaying performer tho not my personally fave performer but hey I can speak objectively when I try and want to) || EDIT (2): protect lee heeseung at all costs

  • Lee Youngbin

  • 1st eps impression: one of the protagonist trio (who performed TXT's Crown). From the I-BLANK interview, I honestly didn't really like his vibes bcs he doesn't have a fave nursery rhyme, but he turned out to be a protag trio and hey...his attitude's pretty cool (quoting what he said to Sunoo "are you going raise to your hand? ...I will", and he proudly raised his hand to vote even when it put their team to a more disadvantageous position also while everyone's shipping SuKe, I'm more interested in YoungbinxSunoo for some reasons). He's the one who gave energy to his team, the positive one (even though he didn't seem like it--is it because he's the oldest in the team?). His expressions are still lacking though, the most lacking one out of the protag trio, I hope he could work on that bcs he surely has potential despite having the shortest period of training time (4 months).

  • 2nd eps impression: I feel like I can relate more to this boy after knowing that we both have insecurities with "exposed evaluation", especially at stuff that we're not good at (in Youngbin's case, the stuff is "learning the choreography at a great speed despite having a 4-month-training"). But he's also someone who speaks up, which often doesn't suit the image of an "insecure person" so a lot of fans perceive his behavior badly (I feel that he feels more pressured judged by Heeseung bcs they're the same-age?? But that's a theory for another time). But hey, in the end, he slayed his one line (personally my fave moment of the entire performance), and his expressions during his only line was spot on. Also, I feel like there's more to Heeseung-Youngbin's interaction than what's actually shown on the show bcs Youngbin obviously still had grudges against him when people want Heeseung to be the number 1 again after the Rain check. Either he's the type to hold grudges or there's srsly something more behind all of this. Will we find out? If they both debut, maybe.

  • 3rd eps impression: I kinda figured that he'd be one of the people who'll be sent to the Ground but I didn't expect him to get all the votes damn. It kinda hit me when he felt broken bcs of that. ALSO SEE I FRICKIN TOLD YOU IT'S YOUNGBINXSUNOO (he's the one who said "let's go meet Sunoo" to Jake, he's the one who comforted Sunoo after the new I-LANDER announcement). He's still lacking in keeping up with the pace sadly (Rain check ref), but I'm srsly looking forward for his performance.

  • 4th eps impression: I honestly think he did well? Tho I'm not much of a fan of "natural expressions", I prefer people who have versatile expressions (like BTS' V or Sunoo), but the producers seem to be fond of the former. I'm glad he's back in I-LAND though bcs bias (quoting Jungwon "our mom's back"). But sadly I couldn't see more of what he could do in this eps, hmm.

  • 5th eps impression: I'm glad he's trying his best to catch up, but honestly there weren't a lot of Youngbin moments in this eps. I just hope he could do well in the next test but the teaser's making me insane.

  • 6th eps impression: ...I honestly thought he finally showed some real intensity in the Grounders' version of I&Credible. The one in the I-LAND's version is good, but it lacks impact somehow--sksk not to mention, Kyungmin rlly took over during his part. I wasn't exactly surprised when he was dropped by the I-LANDers--with 11 votes--again (I'm just sad bcs crown trio betrayal, again).

  • Overall: ...at first he's seriously not one of my faves, but as of this moment, damn I really want him to debut. It's not just his slaying visuals, but with confidence, I'm pretty sure he's capable of being a great idol. | EDIT: I'll def vote for him everyday. Out of the protag trio, he's the one with the smallest fanbase, so I'm going to give it all I got. I admire his improvements in a short amount of time and I believe that he's capable of doing great things.

  • Overall pt. 2: ...disappointed but not surprised, rlly. I've finally established my identity as a Youngbean (yb stan) right before pt 2 and then this happened :)) well but seeing how pt 2 works, I'm kinda glad he didn't make it here (there aren't that many youngbeans in the first place and I didn't want to fight against big I-LAND fanbases, which basically made up the top 12). But fr tho from the beginning of pt 2, it's almost like he never existed. I mean, when Min Namgoong (aka jigeumbuteo) mentioned certain characteristics of a to-be-passing-ILANDer, even tho it fits Youngbin's, nobody even mentioned him. And in eps 12, you won't be able to find him unless you look pretty closely (I had to watch it over and over just to find where he's hiding sksksksk). Most people only like him for his looks (which makes some youngbeans seem so shallow tbh), and that's why somehow he got the most attention when the support video came out. Though I won't deny his majestic looks so, I hope with a bit more training (exponential growth, hello??), he could make his debut. I'll wait forever, Idc. || EDIT: and as of halfway through 2021, he's the ONLY I-LAND-er that we haven't heard from after the show ended. Heck he's not even in the last (supposedly) ot22 photo, so tbh Idk if I should be worried or mad. I just wish his "absence" is a sign that he's still a trainee somewhere (like Chu Jimin whom we've only heard of once he's debuting). But fr tho, I'm a bit tired with the whole clowning, bcs I've already clowned in at least 2 new groups looking for Lee Youngbin, and it turned out that he's not a part of any of those groups :)))) I'll still wait ofc since I figured he'd probably debut in 2022 anyway, but...I'm srsly getting insane if he aint emerging to the surface soon :)))))) || EDIT (2): OKAY, ACTUALY A LOT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN YOUNGBINLAND SINCE MID-2021. SO ON 210817, YOUNGBIN FINALLY MADE AN APPEARANCE ON INSTAGRAM WHICH BASICALLY GOT ME INTO TEARS. AND ON 211028, HE RELEASED A SINGLE PRODUCED BY CIELOGROOVE CALLED "YELLOW" WHICH GOT ME INTO MORE TEARS (GO STREAM). FAMILIAR WITH CIELOGROOVE? Yes, that's the producing group that Seon's a part of. Oh wait, there's more. As of 211216, LEE YOUNGBIN IS ANNOUNCED TO DEBUT UNDER KEYSTONE ENTERTAINMENT AND CIELOGROOVE IS THE ONE PRODUCING THE SONGS !!!!!!!!! AS OF THIS MOMENT HIS GROUP'S STILL ON THE WAY TO DEBUT IN MAY 24TH. HIS GROUP IS CALLED "BLANK2Y" (re: BLANKEY) AND CURRENTLY MY TOP PRIORITY AND LOMLS. PLEASE DO CHECK THEM OUT (I TOLD YOU YOUNGBIN 2022 DEBUTATION)

  • Jay aka OUR MORNING FAIRY aka Park...I forgot his actual name || EDIT: IT'S JONGSAENG, I MEAN JONGSEONG FFS

  • 1st eps impression: wow, a cool kid's impression much? If this were an actual (fictional) series, Jay and Sunghoon would be those cool kids who owned the place and are incredible at what they do (and well--that's not too far-off). Although his first impression was rather awkward, I was scared already bcs I had a feeling about his temper. At least, he's cool and had standards (AND HE COOKS APOIEWHAPOWGIH || EDIT: this is an after-debut reference, but srsly I love Jay the most when he rules the kitchen (also an EN&HI episode reference))

  • 2nd eps impression: He voted based on unique characteristics/energy.. Hmm...interesting. And he ousted Sunoo bcs Sunoo may seem a bit too whiny?? (that's just my theory, do take with a grain of salt) And see?? His temper's showing already, but thank goodness he didn't give in to the emotions completely and still attempted to get a part (even when the attempt was...obviously rather half-heartedly done). He ended up slaying his one-line as well. (also I love the fact that he's a morning fairy AND THE SPOONS)

  • 3rd eps impression: ah tbh he's also in my predictions of dropouts, glad he decided to step up and became the leader of the Grounders. Even though there were problems with matching their pace, glad he could overcome that. Also, I love how he fanboyed over Rain. Can't wait for his "yongseohaejulge"

  • 4th eps impression: IM A BIT FRUSTRATED BCS HIS MIC'S A BIT OFF I GUESS?? BUT HE STILL SLAYED THE PERFORMANCE, NO DOUBT. Glad he could make it back up, and glad to see him still as ambitious as ever (about him wanting to be the dance rep). Aaaaand, srsly people need to stop jinxing on this show. I was as surprised as the producers were when I saw Sunghoon instead of Jay on the stage. I wonder what happened...

  • 5th eps impression: oh...in this case I honestly think the team made the right call (and thank goodness they won in the end so Jay didn't shed tears for nothing, I felt a bit bad for him but things happen for a reason, man). And I kinda wanna laugh at how people come to him all the time to learn the choreo for the last test (I can relate--not in dance though, in something else). I also don't know why I have a thing for Jay giving a massage to the others (Sunghoon in this eps and Kyungmin in the behind eps he even told Kyungmin about all of the I-LAND goodness, I legit laughed at that).

  • 6th eps impression: HE . FRICKIN . SLAYED . HIS EXPRESSIONS WERE AMAZING. At that moment, I knew he wouldn't be dropped no matter what (also I love how he comforted Jungwon when they were talking about the part switch bcs he knows what it feels like sksksks). But damn fr tho, this whole series is like a "try not to fall in love with Jay challenge" and I'm failing desperately. esp with how of a scaredy cat he is sksksk *does Jay's exorcism dance*

  • Overall: ...he'd make an interesting addition to the debut line-up, but I don't know... | EDIT: I legit hope the producers wont drop him/Jay's fanbases rise bcs I want to focus on my MUST-HAVEs. Though it'd be very devastating if he didn't make it. He's quite an important "character" throughout this story, and he's improved so much emotionally. Probably one of the members with the most growth/development throughout the show. || EDIT2: AND THANK GOODNESS HE MADE IT, LET'S DEBUT JAY

  • Overall pt. 2: like Heeseung, pt.2 is also a growth arc for Jay. From being constantly around the middle, to the 11 -> 3 pull, to back to the middle again and pulled a 6 -> 2 at the end. I love all of his performances in this arc tbh (most personal fave is DNA), but I couldn't find any srs flaws in all of them either (and let's just say since I&C, I've always seen his performances in a new light). Personalitywise, I really love his delegating skills in Dive Into You and how he led the team, also his role as the lifestyle leader(?). He had his sentimental side (when he wrote letters to the members) and RAS moments, and despite what most may say, that's srsly a part that made me love him so much (despite Heeseung proving himself to be the comedy king esp after debut, Jay will always be my version of the funniest guy). After pt 2, I knew he'd made it, and glad he did (and he managed to swerve everyone in the process)

  • Nicholas aka Wang Yixiang

  • 1st eps impression: Wow, he seriously gave off a different vibe from the one in the I-BLANK interview. Here he rlly looked like a sweet but awkward guy--but DAMN THE CHARISMA ON STAGE. I love his rapping the most so far.

  • 2nd eps impression: "THIS IS HEAVEN BRO" and I like how he stick with the Japanese trainees, maybe it's bcs Niki was his groupmate. I'm glad he got the chance to show off his b-boying skills as well, but his performance in the 1st exam wasn't as powerful as I hoped--bcs it's not rapping?? Hmm... (also "why are you sleeping naked" -Jay, 2020)

  • 3rd eps impression: see? Sunghoon agreed with me. Nicholas didn't seem to show his full potential in the 1st ep, which was a shame--and I got another prediction right, yet again glad he's all "I'll be back" and "fresh air" about it. He's also one of those who messed up during the Rain check. I hope he won't do that in the actual performance. AND HIS BEHIND THE SCENES SCENE AFTER THE RAIN CHECK WAS SO CUTE WTH NICHOLAS

  • 4th eps impression: I srsly think he'd make a good rapper, his vibes were way stronger here than in the 1st test but sadly that still wasn't enough, huh? I'm glad he got the chance to be a dance rep here, and I hope everything goes well (btw, he srsly made a good combo with Niki, I hope the "Jopping" trio could debut together if they didn't make it here--)

  • 5th eps impression: I love how he slayed that b-boying BUT THAT STILL WASNT ENOUGH HHHH. His crying actually crushed me, he looked so devastated--he wanted this so bad (alright Jopping trio let's debut somewhere else if this doesn't work out). Other than that (and his cute moment with Taki), I don't think I saw any other moments of him in this eps? Can't wait for the last performance.

  • 6th eps impression: FINALLY WE GET SOME VOCAL!NICHOLAS SKSK HIS GAZE WAS PERFECT FOR THIS SONG I LOVE IT. ((well other than that, I couldn't remember any other significant moment of him in this episode--let's just hope we could see more of him in pt.2))

  • Overall: ...again, he'd make an interesting addition to the team, but I don't know...perhaps I should vote for him? I'm still torn. || EDIT: I honestly almost didn't vote for any of the Jopping trio (other than Niki bcs Japan-line) bcs I was trying to save someone, but I think I voted for Nicholas once? I don't know how Nicholadeons managed in the voting but here's to hoping (Idk what name they ended up using but I love this name too much)

  • Overall pt. 2: ...can I just say...so close--SO F*CKING CLOSE. Even tho I wasn't that big of a fan but I really wish we could see more of this legendary guy??? It had to wait til the support video and eps 12 but I was thankful to see him again at all (insert: "I got pushed, Nicholas wasseo" here). And he was still such a meme I see :" Oh and I'm glad to see vocal!nicholas again in ITI ot22 but Im srsly curious about that rap sksksksksk--but anyway, HIS DEBUT IS CONFIRMED IN THE NEW JP BOYGROUP AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IM SO EXCITED TO SEE MORE OF HIS CHARMS CANT WAIIIIT (btw if he got rapping part Idk why I imagine pentagon's yuto vibes skskskskd) || EDIT: and as of the contents released in &AUDITIONBOYS (the Japanese bg) YT channel, he's really that guy who speaks 4 languages and has a different charm in all of them. I'm looking forward to see more sides of Nicholas, because I really didn't expect him to be an E (extrovert)?? (I already forgot I-LAND MBTI's results, and a lot of them turned out to be rather invalid anyway).

  • Byun Euijoo aka EJ

  • 1st eps impression: he gave off a very bright and pure vibe--esp when he's paired with Daniel. Their performance was really fun and easygoing as well--it really suits their image (though his moment of hesitance in a few voting occasions did drive me insane sometimes)

  • 2nd eps impression: okay he wanted to vote based on who could be the moodmaker of the group...I seriously already had a bad feeling with the EJ-Daniel talking scene but he really DID vote Daniel out BCS HE WANTED TO TRY PRACTICING WITH SOMEONE ELSE LIKE WTH EJ (I admit, that reason is very pure indeed, BUT IT'S NOT A GOOD ONE IN THIS SETTING | EDIT: ALSO THAT TURNED OUT TO BE EVIL EDITED BY MNET BCS IN THE I-LAND CAM EJ WAITED FOR DANIEL SO THEY COULD LEAVE TOGETHER WTH??). It's quite a twist when it turned out that he's the one who's sent to the ground instead (I guess due to lack of skills). But honestly out of the 4 trainees who were kicked from I-LAND, he seemed to be the most desperate one? (or at least from how it's shown) Glad the ground trainees still thought of him as pure (quote I AM GROUND unquote)

  • 3rd eps impression: GLAD HE ACTUALLY MADE IT BACK AND HIS MOMENTS WITH DANIEL ARE REALLY SOMETHING WHYYY. And his expressions were interesting too, I like it. OH DAMN I WANT HIM TO DEBUT BUT AAAA

  • 4th eps impression: HE'S ONE OF THE TOP 6 WHOAAA. I'm glad he could stay and being the backup for the dance rep. Also, I'm glad he's getting along with the other 02liners, aka Jake and Sunghoon (Jay in a distance: am I a joke to you?? || EDIT: well there's also Nicholas but he's in the Ground at that time so the '02z moments couldnt happen with him anyway sadly)

  • 5th eps impression: ...hmm...EJ's not shown much in this eps (OTHER THAN THE MEME MOMENT), but I'm srsly looking forward to his 2nd performance as an I-LANDer...perhaps he could actually make it??

  • 6th eps impression: I HONESTLY FEEL REALLY BAD FOR HIM ABOUT THE WHOLE "HAVING POTENTIAL" THING SKSKSKS I'VE NEVER RELATED TO EJ MORE THAN IN THIS EPISODE. He already hurt himself too--I wonder how he's doing now. I didn't blame the producers for voting him out but it still hurts. Thank goodness he showed that intensity once more in the last performance.

  • Overall: ...I'm conflicted. He was one of my faves due to the 1st eps and I-BLANK interview ("what would you be in 10 years?" "29 years old"), but due to the 2nd eps and his rank in my bias list...goodness, I'm seriously conflicted. | EDIT: I MAY start voting for him interchangeably with a few people bcs I'm scared of what the other I-LANDers may think of him (though from the prev eps...I honestly thought that I had nothing to worry about). || EDIT2: IT TURNS OUT THAT THE PRODUCERS DROPPED HIM OKAY--but I did still vote for him interchangeably

  • Overall pt. 2: I'm really sad for EJ too actually (probably my second biggest loss after Youngbin), but I'm also a bit relieved for the exact same reasons (there weren't that many ujus either from what I've seen) In the end, I'm glad to see his forever sociable and fun side again (esp in eps 12's yaja time that "Heeseung-ah" SOIDJFAOWIEJGAWOIEGH AND HIS REACTION AFTERWARDS). Tbh I've always seen EJ as a born entertainer ever since the I-BLANK, but all his talk about his "potential" and all had me pessimistic for some time, that is...until I discovered the I&C cover video that hytae (a dancer) uploaded (but deleted), and then a few days after that, there's the news about the BigHit JP group. FOR REAL I STILL CANT BELIEVE FINALLY EJ'S DEBUTING ASLDFKAFASDFJASK. AT LEAST ONE OF MY TWO ULT ELIM TRAINEES ARE DEBUTING IM HAPPY.

  • Jake aka Shim Jaeyoon

  • 1st eps impression: oh he's in the protag trio--he's the one with the most fans even before this all started. Oh, he's so cute when he's introducing himself to the multicultural team, a very polite person indeed. I like his Crown performance but quoting Jaeho, I think there are some things that he could work on.

  • 2nd eps impression: oh wow, from "I-can't-keep-up" to "having-the-best-moves", what a development. And I feel really sorry for him due to the whole "mic incident" so the performance was lacking one line. I applaud him for his slight professionalism as in "keep going", but he looked stressed 90% throughout the performance--it's too obvious.

  • 3rd eps impression: AND SEE I FRICKIN TOLD YOU, he ended up getting the lowest score bcs he looked like he didn't know what he's doing. I know he's panicking but that ain't an excuse here. He's also one of my dropout guesses for obvious reasons. And...how he immediately gave up going for part 1 after so enthusiastically raising his hand for it--I'm--oh and also, my fave moment of the entire episode, thanks for insinuating it Jake (wHEN I WAKE UP IN MAH, WhEN I wAKE uP IN MAH, RoOM)

  • 4th eps impression: yAS JAKE HE SLAYED IT (and his expressions through it all was so intense, wow). He def deserved to go back up, I'm proud of him (THOUGH WHEN CAN I GET MY PROTAG TRIO TOGETHER AGAIN?? LETS DEBUT MY BBYS). I'm also somehow fond of his friendship with the other 02liners, esp Sunghoon, they're getting more shippable to the point that I don't even know anymore.

  • 5th eps impression: he's srsly come a long way and it's obvious to anyone with eyes. Anyone who said Jake's only worthy of his looks after this eps srsly couldn't see what's up. I'm very proud of him. I hope he'll get to debut after all of this. (and dont worry Jake, people around the world will vote for you)

  • 6th eps impression: HE SRSLY SLAYED THAT PERFORMANCE WTH IS THAT FALSETTO JAKE SKSKSK--also more crackhead content of the 02liners being mischievous with him being the scaredy-cat and the prankster at the same time--WHY. ((btw yay he made it to pt. 2))

  • Overall: he's one of my top choices (BCS I STAN PROTAG TRIO) so I really hope he'll be able to improve and be in the debut line-up also fear of fandom tbh | EDIT: tho I personally wont vote for him bcs I believe in Jake's fanbases...no srsly guys you better dont let me down. I have my other bbys I need to watch out for. || EDIT2: and thank goodness I didn't need to worry about anything. Top #1 in Indonesia and Australia, well done.

  • Overall pt. 2: an arc of Jake growth indeed. Despite being ranked around 7th in almost everything, his performances always got me stunned (and more so with each new performances). After having some troubles with expressing I Need U, Flicker was definitely his climax arc (after having difficulties with it too, and that top spot is VERY MUCH DESERVED IDC WHAT YALL SAY). More difficulties came in Chamber 5, but I couldn't believe he ended up pulling it off. And in eps 12 performances, I must say, he shines the brightest, be it I&C, Calling, or ot22 ITI (I'm not even a highkey Jakey but I just said what I saw). And rlly, after all the h4te he received here, his debut is definitely well-deserved. I'm not a big fan of boasting but I wouldn't be mad if Jakeys flex this. Seriously, well done. (also, I've got the glimpse through the diaries but Jake is rlly a sweet boy and the type who loves his fans so much, Some stuff after debut just proved it more, and this boy is so precious pls protecc him) || EDIT: PLEASE PROTECT HIM AT ALL COST

  • Park Sunghoon aka the ice prince (at first I thought it's because he thought of himself as a cool, emotionless person, but then I found out that he's a figure skater--)

  • 1st eps impression: ah, he's one of the cool kids. I love his voice characteristics tho (and I love his fondness of Heeseung)

  • 2nd eps impression: he actually said he voted based on visuals--I'm--anyway, ofc he shared a room with his fave Heeseung hyung--he seemed to be the one who's on Heeseung's side the most (mentally) during the whole conflict don't make me ship you guys even tho some people already did. Also, the secret prince of freestyle dance?? And I adore his parts during the first exam performance even though I almost missed his second part because he didn't even face the camera at that time.

  • 3rd eps impression: THE LOVE SQUARE BEGINS (re: Heeseung+Jake+Sunoo (+Jay?) x Sunghoon). But fr tho, I love his laugh after Sunoo said that he's probably cuter than Jake--I LOVE THIS SIDE OF HIM (EVEN THO HE'S OBVS WHIPPED FOR HEESEUNG ALREADY). ALSO LOVE HIS EXPRESSIONS SO MUCH IN THE FIRE PERFORMANCE and even overshone Seon during his line--BUT WHY DID HIS VOICE IN HIS ACTUAL LINE SOUND RATHER AWKWARD OR WAS IT JUST ME??. Aaaand, I noticed while they're waiting for the scores, he's the one who said "I hope the team stays like this"--DUDE WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO YOU?? I SRSLY DIDNT EXPECT THAT.

  • 4th eps impression: whoa he's in top 3, he srsly improved a lot and will probably improve more in the future, he has a lot to unpack. I also love how he's getting ambitious by wanting to be a dance rep (and he did get it in the end). I also love how his relationship with Jake is getting more shippable even tho they're just being hardcore rivalbuddies.

  • 5th eps impression: FIGURE SKATING PRINCE PARK SUNGHOON DID IT AGAIN. He honestly slayed his performance (and I'm glad he got the chance to show his ability). I also love how he nonchalantly said "you should teach me later too" after Jay vented to him that he just taught 6 people that day--srsly this kid and srsly tho is he whipped for Jake now??

  • 6th eps impression: ...people said he's dry but why do I honestly feel like he's such a crackhead in his own way sksksk (ESP THAT DOG IMITATION IN THE LONG BEHIND EPS). And Jakehoon's still strong as ever, I wonder what we'd get to see in pt. 2--oh and also, his performance slayed, I srsly love Sunghoon's expressions ever since the FIRE test.

  • Overall: I want him to debut just bcs (and as long as he doesn't reveal a nasty side bcs I honestly don't know what to think with some of my current baes). Plus with all of the fans, I'm pretty sure he'd make it if he keeps improving his abilities (in which the producers believe that he will). So I don't think I'm gonna waste my votes on a big fish. I believe in you, penguins. || EDIT: and I ended up not having to worry about anything, let's debut Sunghoon.

  • Overall pt. 2: a lot of stuff happened here too. And can I just say I really love all of Sunghoon's performances?? (EVEN MUCH MORE SO AFTER DEBUT BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR ANOTHER TIME). From Fake Love, Flicker, Chamber 5, to the final, he really gave it his all and I could see that. The climax of his conflicts must be the chamber 5 era when he had to learn the new song despite previously being the leader of the other team. Plus, from what we've seen in the SVT mini-mission, refreshing concepts aren't exactly stuff that he's comfortable with, but I srsly think he did well in Chamber 5 (and his legendary part "Simbanggwa simsil iwe naui daseot beonjjae bang"). I also loved how he let out more of his personality in pt. 2, like when he screams in the VR (forever legendary), how he screamed while practicing pretty u (AND HE RAN AWAY), how he screamed in the pantry--okay he screamed a lot--but point is, it's a pretty refreshing charm despite his cool ice prince image. Don't forget his siscon and bluffing side, srsly I love him. In the finals, they didn't call him till nearing the end bcs he was 6th (really didn't expect that), but for the very least I was glad he made it into the line-up, I was really scared for a moment there. And as of now, he's one of my favorite boys in K-POP I dare say and I can't get enough of him singing (anything) or dancing to NCT 127's Kick It. He's seriously one of my fave K-POP performers at the moment and I can't wait to see his improvements in the future.

  • Kim Sunwoo aka Sunoo (I srsly hope it's not bcs they don't know the Korean romanization of his name bcs I'm srsly throwing hands if it is) || EDIT: I FORGOT THE SOURCE BUT IF I REMEMBERED CORRECTLY, MY ASSUMPTIONS ARE RATHER TRUE AS IN SUNOO ENDED UP WANTING TO USE THIS VERSION OF ROMANIZATION WELL ALRIGHT THEN

  • 1st eps impression: I didn't notice him much at first BUT HIS REACTIONS WERE SO PRECIOUS (in which one of my kpop-loving friend said that Koreans might find that behavior a bit...disturbing, but we'll get to that later). I think I basically rewatched the 1st eps 4 or 5 times because of Sunoo (yes I have a thing for people with attractive and various reactions). He's the one who's the most expressive in the protag trio as well (and got the most votes bcs of that, probably).

  • 2nd eps impression: hmm...he's out. I'm seriously wondering what impression did he give off to make 10 people vote for him (don't give me the "they're eliminating the talent" BS, they have a lot more there who are obviously just as, or more talented due to experience than Sunoo is). I seriously think it's his personality that somehow doesn't blend well with most of them (read my 1st eps impression). I'm still hoping for him to debut, but his time in the Ground def proved that he's a Slytherin (a cute one, like BTS' Jimin, but a much whinier-sounding version), and I honestly don't know how to feel about that.

  • 3rd eps impression: GLAD HE'S BACK BUT WHY DID HE TRY TO FLIRT WITH SUNGHOON WTH?? But fr tho the way he called "Sunghoon hyung"...Idek anymore. BUT AT LEAST THE MASTER OF EXPRESSIONS IS BACK--HIS EXPRESSIONS ARE SRSLY ON POINT even tho his voice's a bit too soft-childish for this song tbh

  • 4th pick: TOP 6 THIS BOI GOT WHAT IT TAKES--aaaand they voted him out again (srsly why?? they srsly got some beef going on, huh?). On the other hand, K specifically thought that he needed that push to get stronger--and I'm glad he's gotten so serious once he's in the ground and even up to be a vocal rep (I love his voice so much, but that's just personal tastes). I was somewhat glad he was in the ground too bcs not many grounders could stood up to that vocal level against the great vocalists in I-LAND (and technical stuff aside, I'd always adore Sunoo and Daniel's performance more than I-LAND's).

  • 5th eps impression: And that still wasn't enough to go through, huh? I'm glad he could eventually pick himself up again though (evidence could be seen from when he hugged Niki after Niki came back to his senses and started monitoring the other grounders' performance AND SUNKI BECAME MORE POPULAR THAN EVER). CAN'T WAIT FOR THE LAST TIME HE'D SLAY THE (I-LAND) STAGE

  • 6th eps impression: THAT CAMERA TIME THO--I CAN SEE HIM BEING THE ONE WHO DOES INTERVIEWS TO HIS MEMBERS IN MUSIC SHOW BEHINDS :" AND THE ONE WHO DOES MOST SOLO VLIVES (after-debut note: turns out the other members were just as chatty, esp Jay). Oh, and best expressions as always :)) I wonder how he always managed to portray such great expressions--he's def idol material.

  • Overall: HE'S MY 1ST PICK TBH BUT I'M CURRENTLY HAVING MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT HIM. Well, I sure hope he can debut along with the protag trio, but he needs to prove that he can work with the others as well. | EDIT: and I think he proved his worth quite well. I believe in Sunoo's fanbase so I'm honestly not worried (but I did ended up panic-voting for him in pt.2 voting)

  • Overall pt. 2: ...turns out he's number 1 in global voting and I didn't have to worry about anything, well. I was ecstatic when he got into pt. 2 because then we'll get to see more of him and I definitely haven't got enough of him in pt. 1. Sunoo definitely established more of his trademark character throughout this part and I'm glad that managed to (be on the path to) find his identity, no matter what the others may say about his actions during the show. Sunoo's vocal is also my favorite after K and Sunghoon and I love them in all of his performances (particularly in Chamber 5 with his midrange). Also, despite what most may say about the producers' choice, I seriously think he fits the puzzle. Believe me, it hurt to see K and Daniel afterwards, but when it comes to fit the team more, Sunoo's it (and well K's debuting finally, still waiting for Daniel tho, and I stand by my global debut theory--check Daniel's part). And now, he's one of the precious members of ENHYPEN, and it will never be the same without him.

  • Noh Sungchul

  • 1st eps impression: oh, he's in the underdog group. Oh...he seemed to be the most desperate one (again, or it's just shown that way). I admit his voice has that interesting characteristic and I like that. No wonder he got the most votes in his team.

  • 2nd eps impression: Idk why I wanted to laugh when I saw him panicking internally about the votes, but it turned out he did go to the Ground. I sort of admire his optimism and charisma when talking to the fellow Ground trainees though ("we can do this. They'll definitely have more people eliminated, and that's when we go back up" MORE OR LESS IM SORRY FOR THE INACCURACY).

  • 3rd eps impression: I rather feel bad for him bcs he's the only person who's experienced I-LAND who didn't make it back there for now. But glad to see his charisma again, during the whole Kyungmin incident but I wanted to laugh when Rain put him on the spot about trusting their current leaders. Can't wait to see him perform again.

  • 4th eps impression: his voice cracked at the beginning, didn't it? His voice suits this song rather well so it's honestly quite a shame. And I honestly think he has one of the best expressions in this performance (ground version). Still a shame that we couldn't see him back. Moreover, with the vocal rep song being a bit too high for him, his chances of going to I-LAND (if GROUND won) is very slim. Hmm...

  • 5th eps impression: I honestly couldn't remember much from Sungchul in this eps other than Niki complimenting him on his performance after the monitoring (EDIT: SORRY THAT WAS SUNOO--there were no major moments of Sungchul here). Well, if he's worthy, the producers wouldn't let him go that easily.

  • 6th eps impression: IM SORRY GEONU BUT THIS IS HOW YOU SLAYED THE NUMBER 4 PART. Glad his voice didn't crack this time, and I think he did well. btw why do I get a major chuunibyou vibe from him due to the "vote for me" video sksksk

  • Overall: ...I honestly don't know what to think of him, I'm sorry :" he's talented, sure, but Idk why I can't like his vibes...or at least so far (well I did change my mind about Seon and Youngbin, so let's just see). | EDIT: ...my impression of him now is def better than before, but like Jimin, I don't think I can vote for him if I'm taking the chemistry with the other "top pick" members into consideration. Aside from the brief moment at the beginning, he and Jimin hasn't moved from GROUND and Jaebeom's the only one from their original team who's currently in I-LAND...and honestly I think even Jaebeom's in quite a pinch rn, hmm...and ended up dropped as well, so I hope if it doesn't work out for them here, they could debut together in another group.

  • Overall pt. 2: not much to anyone's surprise, Sungchul didn't make it to the next part (I couldn't even find his fanbase's name for a while to the point I was hella frustrated, it's Sungchulicious). But I did eventually find out about his straightforward-bluntness, rather provocative side, which was fun to watch in the last eps. And well, til this date he's one of those whom he haven't heard back from sooo hope he's working on his way to debut because we seriously need to see more of him and I believe he's got the potential. || EDIT: AND LATELY THERE HAS BEEN RUMORS AND WHISPERS ABOUT HIM BEING IN THE NEW LINEUP OF FANTAGIO'S NEW BG HMM (THERE ARE HINTS BUT I'LL SAY MORE ONCE THIS IS CONFIRMED). BUT I HOPE IT'S TRUE SO WE CAN GET SUNGCHUL DEBUTATION SOON.

  • Yang Jungwon (can I just say that this is prob the most precious pic of Jungwon I've ever landed my eyes on--) | EDIT: you know what, rephrase that, EVERY WEVERSE PIC OF HIM IS FABULOUS HOW--

  • 1st eps impression: um he's cute I guess. He's from the young trio (who performed Jay Park's "All I Wanna Do"--Korean ver. thank goodness it's the Korean ver--these three are babies). I think his voice was stable enough, but it's not exactly the type of voice I usually label as a "voicebae".

  • 2nd eps impression: I think people keep forgetting that Jungwon's only the third youngest in I-LAND after the dropouts were out bcs Niki's a 05L. But that aside, I really admire how his voice remained stable during the whole "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" choreo-thing. His duo part with K was also one of my faves in the first test. Also his piggyback ride scene with Youngbin was really adorable

  • 3rd eps impression: Whoa--highest score, impressive. AND I FINALLY FOUND A REASON TO LIKE HIS VOICE, THAT "ERRBODY SAY LALALALALA" SHOWED HIS POWER WHICH WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED. Though sadly, yeah, he somehow didn't stand out much during this performance. I wonder what's his current score now. also he looked too babyface during the whole thing--send this kid home. And I stan his crackhead behavior with Geonu for some reasons.

  • 4th eps impression: I'm a bit surprised people actually voted him out even though I'm not against it. As Sunoo said, he didn't use his good position well. But K HAD to save him and ended up being a lot more heartbroken than he's supposed to smh. Ah well, I'm glad he got a "redemption" by being the dance rep, now I don't know what to like more--his voice or his moves.

  • 5th eps impression: other than constant babyface, he slayed his performance and he even brought it to his sleep. Aaaand...he got a really good part tbh. I'm honestly curious how he'll execute this one. He's def one of my faves now (even more than Geonu).

  • 6th eps impression: WHY IS HE SUCH AN ETERNAL BABY SRSLY SKSK--and with the whole part-changing thing, he ended up being the top scorer again--hidden ace indeed. I even felt his energy like never before, he srsly got the thing for performing.

  • Overall: ...it'd be insane if he didn't get in, but he's not exactly my top fave...for now. | EDIT: as stated above, yes I'm much more fond of him now, but I believe in Jungwon's fanbase and the producers--and I turned out to be correct.

  • Overall pt. 2: surprisingly for most (but not for me), Jungwon wasn't that popular with the votes in the beginning (in pt. 1, Edens is a big fanbase but not that BIG). He kicked off through a good start with I Need U, he slayed Flicker, but damn Chamber 5? That was a REALLY close call. For real, I'm surprised too, pdogg, for someone so cute, he actually has more fatal charms. But then he pulled out that 9 -> 1 in the finals, and I couldn't be happier for him. Despite what happened, he earned that spot, and Edens have worked really hard. And MUCH SURPRISE TO EVERYONE (BUT ME AND MY BEST MOOT WAS TROLLING ABT IT JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE), HE'S NOW OUR BELOVED YANGLEADER AND CURRENTLY THE YOUNGEST KPOP LEADER. A beloved baby sheep garden who's much loved by all, we're rooting for you.

  • Jo Kyungmin aka HAMSTER

  • 1st impression: oh, he's a part of the friendship trio. And...HE ACTUALLY ALMOST MADE IT INTO I-LAND WITH 11 VOTES--I actually lost my mind at that time bcs he's one of my personal faves and his performance wasn't that bad. I admit, I kinda like his voice too. Again, at least he got Jaeho with him.

  • 2nd eps impression: um...there weren't exactly any major moments of him here, but the beginning of his training video looked good. I hope he'd have a chance to go to I-LAND some time in this show.

  • 3rd eps impression: ...I did want more screen time of him but not like this--I respect him due to being patient while handling Niki, still tho I don't know if he's just too tired to deal with it--he looked so emotionless during the Rain check as well. I lowkey hope that he slays his line in the actual performance too--Rain didn't almost make Nicholas laugh for nothing.

  • 4th eps impression: YAS HE SLAYED HIS LINE even better than Sunghoon imo, for that line AND HE GOT INTO I-LAND LIKE HE DESERVED. IM GLAD GEONU'S REUNITED WITH ONE OF HIS FRIENDS. And FOR REAL THO Kyungmin's wrecking my bias list big time in this eps, he's being a real softboi and I live for it.

  • 5th eps impression: the only thing I'm glad with the whole I-LAND winning thing is that all of my current I-LAND baes can stay, including Kyungmin. I love his guts for aiming for part 1, but sadly he's stuck with part 12. B U T, he's smart, he's using everything he could come up with to stand out even with a part like that (TRIVIA FUN FACT: IT WAS ACTUALLY THE CHARACTER OF HIS PRIMAL ZODIAC: THE RAVEN. CHECK MY I-LAND OT23 PRIMAL ZODIAC THREAD ON TWT FOR MORE). Major respect for him, so I think I'm gonna root for him til the very end. And can't wait for his first and last performance as an I-LANDer.

  • 6th eps impression: Idk why I honestly prefer his performance in the I-LANDers version? In the first one he was intense, but still cunning (and major points for the appeal in his part), while in the Grounders' one, he's seriously way too intense to the point I kinda didn't recognize his aura anymore. So I ended up not knowing what to think after that. About him being dropped to the ground...yeah, I'm not surprised either. Though 11 votes was too harsh--guess almost all of them have the same people in mind.

  • Overall: ...I haven't known him well enough to assume anything, but so far...um...I'm rather so-so about him, but he is one of my faves. | EDIT: def one of my top picks now. His perspective has won me over. Let's debut, my hamster.

  • Overall pt. 2: okay, but same Kyungmin, I was even shook with the fact that he was considered for the last spot. I didn't realize Kyungminices were that many (I did vote for him interchangeably but still). There weren't that many moments of him in the last eps either that leave me a strong impression (other than him being the starter of ITI ot22), but I still hope he'd make it. I've always thought he was a star material...AND IT PROVED TO BE TRUE. HE'S DEBUTING WITH THE BIGHIT JP NEW BOY GROUP AASUDHFAIHWSAFDJK I REALLY CANT WAIT FOR HIM TO SHOW THE WORLD WHAT HE'S CAPABLE OF. || EDIT: SADLY in 210531, it was announced that Kyungmin's no longer a part of the &boys (HBJ) lineup, and he proceeded to create an insta and tiktok account afterwards. He's done a couple of lives, though lately I haven't been up to date with him much. I still wish that Kyungmin could still debut somewhere though, he's still young, and I think he has potential.

  • Kim Taeyong

  • 1st eps impression: oh, he's in the young trio. A child actor?? Interesting. His voice wasn't exactly my type, though...and I didn't find any particular moments that made him shine in his performance, so I don't know what to think of him for now.

  • 2nd eps impression: the one who said Jaebeom would melt into sulfur acid/curry power--damn this kid. And, again...there weren't any major Taeyong moments in this eps. Let's just see.

  • 3rd eps impression: whoa, he actually made it to I-LAND?? I legit didn't expect that. Glad he also felt confident in his part where he gets stepped on a lot, I rlly saw him in a new light because of that. He was the least expressive during the performance along with Jungwon imo, but his line sounded fine, I guess.

  • 4th eps impression: aaaand, he's out again. Geonu said that he thought it's bcs Taeyong's improvements were still wasn't enough, hmm. He didn't stand out much during the whole rep battle fiasco so I couldn't say much about him in this eps.

  • 5th eps impression: he's the one who stood up to Niki the most about asking him to be their "leader" and I'm somehow proud of that?? He's concerned about the whole "individuality" going on, and thanks to his efforts (and Rain's advice), Niki finally gave in. I think at this rate, Ground's performance would burn more than I-LAND's once again.

  • 6th eps impression: oh and he burned alright in his part, it was good. Though aside from that, I couldn't remember much about Taeyong here hmm (tho from the special eps it's good to know that he's a very attentive student during the whole I-LAND process).

  • Overall: ...def not my top pick at the moment, I'm srsly looking for more of his appeal (in the show) but I really can't find any right now. | EDIT: though I think I like him a bit better after the 3rd eps...and the 5th eps, but that wasn't enough to completely win me over if I had to choose a few among them

  • Overall pt. 2: pumpkins could hold their ground well during the tap hearts event thingy, so I was kinda surprised Taeyong didn't make it at least til Kyungmin's spot (that's what I got from my observation of the fandoms, none of my personal wants considered). My fave part of him in pt. 2 was def the "Sunghoon's an unicorn" part skskssk, it's a really precious thought imo. And now, he has an IG acc, and he's stated through his brother's YT channel that he'd pursue a career to be an actor. I'm a tad bit bumped abt it bcs I'm not that much of a k-drama fan (unless it's a series that I'm really invested in), but I'll be waiting for more of his drama appearance.

  • Kim Yoonwon aka macaron boy

  • 1st eps impression: I already got the impression that he's a macaron boy due to the I-BLANK interview Oh he does busking? Someone who likes to perform, huh? (yes I'm quoting the producers) And I feel rlly bad for him when he basically let the appealing performance go to waste--it's probably just his unlucky day.

  • 2nd eps impression: ...yeah...there weren't many Yoonwon moments here either. I'm looking forward to see more of our sweet-tooth boy.

  • 3rd eps impression: again, I srsly didn't expect him to make it, guess all that busking was a valuable experience (not to mention that his video wasn't quite revealed in the 2nd eps so I couldnt predict anything about him). He srsly still lacks screen time despite getting into I-LAND though, but I'm glad he got his moment when he's comforting Heeseung after the Rain check, that was very sweet of him. Also, he's one of those types who has versatile expressions--I admire that side of him.

  • 4th eps impression: aaand, he's out again. Seon said that he voted Yoonwon out bcs he couldn't seem to focus during group practice (well if it's true, that could be quite a burden). And I don't think we see much of Yoonwon afterwards (Idk why I remembered him asking why is Daniel crying after the vocal reps performance, but a lot of the other Grounders did that too)

  • 5th eps impression: ...another episode of I srsly couldn't find any interesting Yoonwon moments. I think he's the one who got the least screen time now, not Jaeho. (EDIT: I do remember now after rewatching that he's aimed to get part 1 along with Hanbin--ah well, let's see what you can do boy and I think he was one of those who weren't really struggling to learn the choreo along with Hanbin??)

  • 6th eps impression: WE WILL MISS YOU, YOONWON. It was a difficult, but a wise choice. You go, boy. We'll wait for your time to shine. Get well soon.

  • Overall: ...uh...not exactly my top pick tbh, but we'll see. | EDIT: still not rlly, I couldn't find a more convincing charm, I do like his sweet side tho (literally and figuratively (?)). Plus he's still young, he'll manage, I hope. | EDIT2: WE WILL WAIT FOR HIS TIME TO SHINE

  • Overall pt. 2: well it is to be expected for him not to be included in more belift lab trainee activities bcs he had to quit, not eliminated, but it was still pretty sad not to see him again with the other I-LANDers. I know he's happy with his dance crew and doing dance on YT, but I'm still kinda hoping that he'd try out again to be an idol some time in the future. || EDIT: but lately he's not with his dance crew either so wyd Yoonwon?? You debuting somewhere??

  • Taki aka our cute daechwita boi aka Riki A

  • 1st eps impression: HE SRSLY LOOKED LIKE AN ELEMENTARY KID ON A FIELD TRIP IM SORRY WW || I can't say the same for his EXO's Monster performance, but he did awesome with his locking (and we were able to witness a meme!K moment thanks to that). He literally got 22 votes with 1 spot left, that's srsly something else.

  • 2nd eps impression: ah, but if we have to kick some, I'm not surprised he's one of the victims. He does need to improve more (and I'm glad the drama between him and Niki wasn't as intense as I thought). BUT IM A TAD BIT MAD WHEN THE OTHER GROUND GUYS WERE TRYING TO CONVINCE HIM THAT "NIKI IS EVIL". GUYS--NIKI AND TAKI HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER WAY BEFORE THIS WHOLE THING STARTED SO LETS NOT GET INVOLVED, YES? I AGREE HE NEEDS MORE CONFIDENCE BUT NO NEED TO CORRUPT HIM (also he's basically fanboying over Niki throughout the whole performance--I can't, this boy is too pure). btw I love all of his meme moments in this eps

  • 3rd eps impression: GLAD HE MADE IT--also LOVE ALL THE NIKITAKI MOMENTS IN THIS EPS (I legit cried when Taki kept asking Niki why he's in the ground and what happened--I didn't even cry one bit during the 2nd eps). Also love all of his father-son moments with K--I don't see many 8-year age gap in k-pop groups so srsly this is something else. Aaaand ofc his awkward charm that always make the producers laugh (and me tbh). We'll probably need a compilation of that at the end of this series.

  • 4th eps impression: HE GOT INTO TOP 6 (even the ex-grounders didn't expect that) BUT SRSLY WHY IS THIS HAPPENING CAN I JUST NOT CRY FOR ONE I-LAND EPISODE DAMN. Though that aside, I'm glad to see him reunited with Niki in the ground--tho I hope it was under better circumstances (as in, reunited in I-LAND or something WHEN CAN I GET MY JP LINE TOGETHER AGAIN)

  • 5th eps impression: YAS TAKI'S GONNA GET A LOT OF SPOTLIGHT IN THE LAST TEST and Rain complimented him too and gave him some good advice. I'm honestly excited, let's debut, baby boy.

  • 6th eps impression: HE DID WELL--HIS EXPRESSIONS AND GROOVE WERE SPOT ON?? And this time, it wasn't awkward at all?? A lot of fans are voting for him too due to them wanting to see a Suga-Taki interaction. Let's hope we'll get to see that :"

  • Overall pt. 1: ...I want him to debut personally, but it wouldn't be fair if Niki didn't...so I'm gonna vote for them both. Both of them have improved significantly, either in skill or character, and I want to reward them for that.

  • Overall pt. 2: ...honestly I was both surprised and not(?) that he made it to pt. 2. As a Japan trio stan, of course I'm happy for him, but also a bit scared at the same time, because the rest of the trainees have hardcore fanbases--it'll be a true bloodbath (which is why, to be honest, I'm a bit relieved that Youngbin didn't make it). And truly, starting from the first test, my fears were manifested. I didn't blame Taki for "eliminating" Geonu in the first test, it is what it is (and he got eliminated right after, so...I ain't happy about that, but it is what it is (2)), but performancewise, I did feel bad for him during FAKE LOVE. It was the first time I ever saw how hard it must've been for male idols, especially younger ones whose voice just cracked (the same thing happened to Ni-ki but I'll talk more about him below). And in Dive into You, I honestly think he's made up for it (I love his "dive into you" that was before Hanbin's rap part for some reason). But anyway, Taki has left a lot of wonderful moments here too (I'm still not over the one where he almost ate the preservative--help--and also his legendary Pretty U encore), even up until the last episode where he made a re-appearance along with the others ("K, let's practice"). He's made an impact on I-LAND, and I was sad to see him leave, but I really think that he'll make it big elsewhere. ... And I edited this after I found out about his upcoming debut in HYBE Labels Japan, so...well. Waiting for the reality show now.

  • Niki AKA NISHIMURA RIKI?? CAUSE THAT NAME'S CUTE AF AKA RIKI B (TAKI'S RIKI A, SURPRISE SURPRISE

  • 1st eps impression: he slayed his performance, that's for sure. And he's the first one who voted for Taki to go to I-LAND. That just shows their bond right there.

  • 2nd eps impression: Again, I'm glad the drama between him and Taki was not as worse as I imagined BUT SOMETHING ELSE'S COMING. He's basically the one who wants the number 1 position the most here (after Jay basically gave up on that position for some unknown reasons?) , even more than Heeseung (Heeseung actually didn't want to be the center). And he finally got it, but he didn't meet everyone's expectations when it comes to singing. I'm glad that he's trying though, and the one in the actual performance was better than the one in the Rain check. But I'm wondering...the boys kept him in number 1 purely because Niki didn't want to give that position away? Perhaps he feared that the chance would be no more?? (again, that's just my random hypothesis)

  • 3rd eps impression: I'm not surprised that he's voted out but his score was srsly not as bad as I thought it would be (compared to the rest, I mean). In the Ground, he showed us once again, that he literally got the talent for dance. BUT WHY IS HE ALWAYS SHOWN AS AN EVIL PERSON IN THIS SHOW I don't condone his actions in Kyungmin's incident, esp knowing that Kyungmin's not in a good health condition, but he's a strict-desperate one, and most of the I-LANDERS were just as on edge as he was (but he was the lucky one who got caught lashing out). I still look forward for his performance tho--esp he got K's part. Let's see how you play up that expression, boy.

  • 4th eps impression: NOT BAD TBH NOT BAD, he tried, but it was full-on Niki's charm and I couldn't dislike that, it was cute in its own way. And same, Jay, I'm a bit sad Niki didn't make it either. But I'm glad he became quite a worthy rival of I-LAND's dance rep. They're legit scared of him. I also love him for giving Hanbin the push that he needed even tho it didn't end up going so well--but that's on Hanbin's part

  • 5th eps impression: he legit slayed. I'd srsly be as depressed as he was if I didn't make it to I-land after all that. I'd question every single one of my decision, wondering if it's the right thing to do bcs everything ended up being wrong rn (which was exactly Niki's dilemma at the beginning). I'm glad he decided to help after all, his feedback might just be the turning point the grounders needed to show the world what they're actually capable of.

  • 6th eps impression: I'm glad to see him in good spirits now (the revoting for part 1). And he still slayed his performance as always. LETS DEBUT NIKI. (and Idk why I really fell in love with him lately bcs of the new contents that mnet released before the special episode)

  • Overall: ...IT'D BE SAD FOR HIM NOT TO DEBUT DUE TO FANDOM HATE. If he doesn't make it, I want it to be because of the members/producers' thoughts, not the audience. And I personally think that he's still a young dance genius, I kinda want him to debut. || EDIT: AND DUE TO WHAT THE SHOW PUT HIM THROUGH AND HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AT THE END, HELL YEAH I DEF WILL SUPPORT HIM. LET'S DEBUT MY JAPAN LINE

  • Overall pt. 2: okay make yourselves comfortable because this is gonna be a long ride. Ni-ki basically went UP on my bias list because of the special photos released between pt 1 and 2, and when revealed to be the trainee with the third most vote, I was relieved, because the hate of the audience didn't affect his standing on the show. I was really happy about that for a while, until the whole drama between him and K in the DNA team (tho in all honesty, I do think it was his fault for not knowing any better, and well, a moment of childish selfishness). Luckily he gradually redeemed himself through Dive into You, and finally Flame On. I really REALLY fell in love with him more after Flame On, and due to some moment of spite within the fandom(?), after voting for a few several people for a while, I decided to root 100% for Ni-ki, and even joined his voting team in my country. The moment he was revealed to be 4th, I felt both EXTREME RELIEF and EXTREME FEAR (because in all honesty, I was pretty sure it would be the original 6 + Sunoo who'd debut at that point). Though honestly now? I couldn't imagine a better outcome. Ni-ki fits well with the other ENHYPEN members, and currently one of the youngest and greatest dancers in K-POP. And that was the story of how he became my ult bias in ENHYPEN all of a sudden. A bit random, but definitely a worthwhile journey for me.

  • Daniel (this pic of him is actually so charming?? Wth??)

  • 1st eps impression: oh, so he's the maknae. He doesn't really look like it though? (yes he's tall) His performance looked fun and I love it (it literally got stuck in my head for days). I love how he's the one who always raised his hand to vote for the others. And the behind the scenes showed that he's very mature for his age, and considerate of others.

  • 2nd eps impression: oh boi if only he knew what EJ did to him--but anyway, ANOTHER MATURE!DANIEL MOMENT (during the whole Jay tantrum). For his performance in the 1st test, I gotta say I like it, and Son Sung Deuk (BTS' choreographer and one of the directors of Into the I-LAND) even complimented his energy. Like Sunghoon, I also missed his other part--and I seriously thought Seon was singing that part too :"

  • 3rd eps impression: I kinda predicted that he's the one who got the second highest score bUT I SRSLY DIDNT THINK HE'D BE THE ONE WHO'S VOTED OUT--AND WITH 11 VOTES (after all that hugging too--poor guy). Glad we could still witness his mature moment in the Ground when he tried to calm Niki's temper (heck, the rest of the guys are older than Niki bcs Niki's the second youngest in all of I-LAND but the maknae's actually the one who stepped up?? Damn). Can't wait for your "errbody say lalalalala" my boy.

  • 4th eps impression: he slayed his line but I couldn't feel a lot of intensity coming from him, so I guess that's why he didn't make the cut? Also, I'm partly glad he didn't bcs his voice was 100% match with the Save Me song and his performance SLAYS. This boi will be a big idol someday, I'm telling ya. his perfectionism side reminds me of bts' jk somehow hmm

  • 5th eps impression: yeah Idk how many times I've said this but I'm still a bit dumped with the fact that they didn't win. All of them put up a good fight, though. But Idk why I felt like Daniel's seen a bit more of the dark side of the world where everything may not go as the way he wanted it to be despite him doing his best to help people out. Ouch. It took even a Daniel a while to get back on his feet after that loss. I'm gonna pull out all the stops to help this boy out bcs I don't see a reason not to.

  • 6th eps impression: ...he literally interpreted I&Credible in his own way, huh? I sensed a different energy than the others--when I first watched it, I thought he wasn't as intense--but now, damn. Pls debut. (bcs we need more hyungs-Daniel content with him crushing his hyungs for hugs)

  • Overall: it'd be fun if Daniel and K debuted in the same group...that's a 9-year age gap. I personally want all the best for this boy. He's one of my top picks and he's so precious, he deserves all the love and support--AND I WILL GIVE HIM THAT.

  • Overall pt. 2: Not surprisingly, Daniel made it to pt. 2 with the second most votes, because he's that lovable. But once the votes are more limited, it's obvious that Daniel's ain't a lot of people's priority (which is sad tbh but I'm also one of those people because I thought he has many supporters). And it's also sad to say that he has more fan power than what the producers could ever evaluate him as. I moderately enjoyed all of Daniel's performances in I NEED U, Dive into You, and Flame On, but I must admit, it is still lacking compared to most of the hyungs' (and it didn't help that he often got less notable parts because of that as well). And so...I'm honestly surprised (and relieved) that Daniel made it that far after being on the chopping board twice, but after the finals, it was like, "ah...so we only made it here after all." But well, he's still young, I do want to believe that the opportunities would still be there for him if he wish for it (and as far as the rumors went, I do think so. As much as I have mixed feelings for the agency, I wanna do a clownery of him being in the pldis nbg lineup). And as far as I'm concerned now, he's focusing on being a student in Hanlim (the same school Sunoo, Jay, and Jungwon went to, though Sunoo and Jay have graduated some time ago), so I wish him all the best in that aspect. All I know is that, no matter where he ends up, I'll try my best to support him, and the other OT23 as well.

  • A special part for Daniel debutation clownery: to be honest because of the whole HYBE Japan thing, I thought Daniel would have a chance to debut in HYBE America or something. But after some...rumors, and the fact that Pl3dis is doing an audition for a new BG...Idk Idk, I really don't know what to feel if Daniel's really debuting in Pl3dis. I mean, I'm happy that he'd still be a part of HYBE, but at the same time pl3dis (AND HYBE) pls do your job right.
